BIOGRAPHY
Linda Ifeoma Ikeji was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Ikeji on the 19th Of September 1980. She hails from Nkwerre, Imo state. She is the second child in the family of Seven. At the age of 10, she developed interest in reading and writing. At that time, she had a feeling that writing was something that made her feel happy and confident. Soon after, She completed her school education at the age of 17 and got admission to study in higher institution at the prestigious University of Lagos to study English Language. While she was in University of Lagos, she managed to not only support herself financially but helped her parents as well by engaging in part-time jobs as a model, a waitress and a writer.She also juggled her modelling jobs with her studies where she modeled for numerous brands as well as some fashion shows in the country back then.
In 2004, she graduated from the prestigious University of Lagos.
BLOGGING CAREER
In 2006, Linda Ikeji started blogging for the first time without any intention of getting paid for it. As at that time, only few people were into blogging including Bella Naija. Also, Internet was not as developed as it needed to be for blogging in Nigeria so she had to go to cybercafes and write from there. In 2007, she became an active blogger using a blogger sub-domain lindaikeji.blogspot.com and later obtained her domain www.lindaikejiblog.com.
In 2010, Linda Ifeoma Ikeji rose to fame after her blog became very prominent and started raking millions in her bank account. She is the highest paid bloggers in Nigeria. Her relentless efforts, passion and dream earned her the title "Queen of Blogging" in Africa. She was featured on forbes Africa's 20 most prominent women in 2012 and was the biggest google search trend in Nigeria in 2014.
However, a shocking event happened on the 8th October 2014 when google shutdown her blog. Although, the blog got restored again on the 10th of October 2014 for reasons not clearly started.
NET WORTH, HOUSES AND CARS
Linda Ikeji is currently worth the sum of $10 million.
The "Queen of Blogging" acquired a house in Banana Island worth over #500 million. The house consists of six bedrooms, two living rooms, a swimming pool and a cinema room located on three floors. Its size is around 700 square metres.
Apart from the house, she also acquired quite a few expensive cars for herself, her siblings and parents.
CHARITY PROGRAMS
Linda Ikeji runs a non-profit project themed "I would rather be self made; No thanks". In an interview with HipTV, Linda Ikeji revealed that through the project, she has assisted youmg girls of aged 16-25 years old who have great business ideas and are willing to venture into entrepreneurship. According to her, she gave out the sum of 10 million naira in the first phase of the project.
CONTROVERSIAL POSTS
Linda Ikeji has dealt with controversial posts which #saveMayowa Campaign and also about celebrities such as Wizkid, RMD, Tonto Dikeh and hosts of other top celebrities in Nigeria who described her publications as defamatory and malicious.
AWARDS
She won the 2014 Media Broad Award and also The blog of the year in the Nigeria Blog Awards in 2012.
